Hi, I’m Jaelyn.
I’m an aspiring vet and slow living advocate.
Live life, go slow, have fun. Enjoy the process. Learn with me as I try to do just that.
Throughout more than 3 years of trying to get into a vet school, experienced numerous failures, mistakes and rejections, I realised that the road towards a certain destination will rarely be a smooth one. And that’s exactly where the fun lies. From being so tied up, to letting it loose, having a rigid approach, to becoming flexible. From being frustrated and disappointed, to having fun towards whatever life throws at me. And finally, from wanting so desperately to get into a vet school, to truly enjoying the process.
In this site, I share my experiences and practical tips to live a more slow living, mindful and fulfilling life.
This site is divided into these sections:
thenerdysloth — For slow living pet owners, animal lovers and anyone who wants to learn about pet care and health.
Bite sized information summarised with adorable graphics on instagram @thenerdysloth.sg.
Vet Med Life — For slow living, aspiring vet students, trying to figure out the vet med path.
For (slow living) veterinary friends, it is to remind you to slow down and truly love the awesome work that you do.
Slow Living — For all other slow living people. Here is where I share everything else about me.
Self-growth, mindfulness, mini-retirements and everything else in between.
But… What credits do I have?
I’m NOT a professional, just an amateur sharer of life experiences. See me as that. See me as someone with you on this journey. Notice how we learn more easily from someone who is just slightly ahead of us. For example, if you want to learn how to cook, would you learn better from a friend or family member who is able to cook delicious home-cooked food or a professional chef as big as Gordon Ramsay?
As an amateur, I’m here to empower you to take the first step, to go slow, to start on your ‘1% improvement every day’ journey.
