balance work and life as a vet to-be

What is slow living?

Slow living is a mindset whereby you curate a more meaningful and conscious lifestyle that’s in line with what you value most in life.”

That’s freedom, freedom to choose to do the things you value most in life. Knowing your enough, using the right amount of time and effort to do things that matter most to you. It involves slowing down, doing less, having less, reflecting and being present.

Slow living is about living better, not faster.

What got me into slow living?

Meditation. Specifically Vipassana meditation.

It is to see things as they really are. To observe the reality of the moment. And all that requires me to go slow and live slow. The beauty and lightness of this lifestyle has become pervasive in every corner of my life and that’s how I realised, “Hey, I’ve starting LIVING.”

Mindfulness

Everything starts within the mind — our beliefs, actions, emotions.

It’s about trusting the process, enjoying the process, no matter what we do.

Self-growth

When you stop learning, you start dying.

With the slow living concept, it’s just 1% growth every day.

It’s about sharing my progress in learning a new skill and forming habits.

Mini-retirements

Who says you need to retire to finally enjoy what you’ve earned?

How about incorporating it throughout your life?

It’s about taking mindful breaks throughout our lives, not just reserving it for the end (which we will never know when).
